No, but it takes a lot of electricity to make spare parts to fix damaged cars and those costs just get passed along. Motor insurance is run on razor thin margins so something has to give.

You might want to check out their finances first. Direct Line, for example, reported a half-year /loss of £76.3m back in September. Look out for all the major players reporting their full year numbers around March/April and I'm willing to bet that most of not all will be showing a loss for 2023

Last year was £350 and they quoted me £510 this year. I got a new insurer for £390.

Was with Esure and am now with Admiral

More of a problem with garages over charging insurance companies. Customer comes in who is insured then it’s a licence to print money. Not just garages, I’ve noticed veterinary’s have bumped their prices up massively, insurance companies drive up costs.

Them sensor things on cars have got a lot to answer for.

When they brake, the car can't carry on until its fixed....even though there's nothing actually wrong with the car.

The sensor's should be the manufacturers responsibility
