Players Wages

Either his maths aren't very good or he doesn't shower and brush his teeth before he goes to work!!;)

Glenn doesn't either, but that's mainly because he's working 24/7 to save the club from fans like us.

That's probably the biggest load of rubbish I've ever had the misfortune of reading on OVF.

You don't look on here too often then? There's miles worse. I have to read it all mate.:ohmy:

Keep the faith. Most of OVF is pretty good.

Gilson is just saying how it is.

I very much doubt if Sam Morsey takes home half of £1000 per week. Apart from Rico doubt if many take home (ie after deductions) £1000 per week.

You're dead right. Each club will have one 'marque player' on more than say £1500 a week at this level. The rest at £1000 and the majority on a week £500 at this level.

I know it is football but all on pretty good wages compared to the average local.

And it has to go lower for the new Vale. Until we get the supporters back and a decent owner. Nuff said. :(

Most people in the ex pots would give their all for £500 after tax a week.

Average wage is around £200 a week I believe so yes I think they would.

So below minimum wage? As an average? No chance.

Its a fifteen year career if you're fortunate. Its not as though its 18-65 wage. An extra couple.of hundred quid a week for young fit athletes will go on things like gyms dietary suppliments health care etc etc. Over a 45 year working life it is a drop in the ocean.

players must be rolling in it thats why loft is training as a tattooist his huge vale salery is making him a eccentric millionaire. Seems it was only suggested as a gesture of support to have a collection doubt it will even come close to cover wages but if staff and players only get a tenner they will know its support from fans

The players should have some money and I am sure the PFA will see them alright, but what about the kit lady (who I think worked for free anyways), the cute girl in the club shop and various other behind the scenes staff who will see nothing.

To highlight the financial ineptitude of the board, they still advertised for kiosk staff despite the fact that demand for food from the club is at an all-time low. (still on website)

The fact they were still looking to put people on the books to sell pies nobody wanted (Miller excepted) while the club was struggling for funds leads you to think this was all a deliberate scam just like the MG Rover crisis.

They bought the company when it was dying, crippled it with debt by awarding huge salaries and promising to develop new cars, ran off and never faced the music.
