The Poppy Appeal Organiser contacted M&S and they said the car park was nothing to do with them. There was an article in the Sentinel the following week when ppl who go there shopping and eating were receiving tickets. Ppl were also receiving fines for parking on white lines of a parking place. As ppl stated they can’t park there and then go somewhere else as the retail park is a good distance from anywhere else.

been down to sainsburys this morning explained what had gone on and they are going to cancel the ticket

daughter got a letter couple of days before Christmas 2yrs ago, saying she hadn't got a ticket for her 2hour stop up Hanley, but she saves car park tickets for a time. So she challenged the letter, and sent a photo of the ticket, they replied "in this case we have decided not to take it ant further". 

   I replied to them "i may be cynical but a busy time just before Christmas, how many people save a ticket, so just pay up as theyv'e no proof, so what do you do send so many letters out and see who pays up, a good way to make a bit of pocket money, i wait your reply?"   and still am...

I had one nearly 20 years ago. I told them I was in jail for a re-arrest that went on longer than expected so I wont be paying. Take me to court if you wish. They rescinded it.
