Rudge gave us the best years of our history. He's playing a big part in giving sjoke some great years. Imagine what he could have achieved at his peak in the 90s if he had switched to a bigger club with more resources. He had opportunities but was loyal to Vale always. Great manager. Great guy. Black and white blood.

I think its no coincidence that when Rudge was sacked from Vale we fell from the Championship to The 4th division of league of football.

Rudge joined Stoke and they went from the 3rd division of league of football to the Premier league.

The guy has the magic touch with football clubs. He has a good business brain and gets the most out of the money available. He has tremendous experience and would be ideal to be part of a future Vale take-over to help guide the club in making good decisions and deals.

Anybody who speaks ill of the legend that is John Rudge, in my view, is not a true Vale supporter.

Legends rise above what are petty rivalries, and regardless of what he has done since he was unceremoniously dumped by Bell, he will always be the best thing that ever happened to Port Vale Football Club.

A clean slate is needed. Rudge was way best his best when BB offered him the director of football job. Rudge preferred to be dof down the road and is best left in the past.

Do you really think we have a chance? Coates has surely tied him down with a contract for life. They maybe in the top tier now, but not for ever, you have to think ahead.

Rudgey is, and always will be, a true Vale legend.

We had the most successful years ever, promotions, Wembley trips, giantkillings and all this was done playing football the way it should be played.

He is respected by everyone in football, and rightly so.

However, this is now in the past. I don't think he'd want to come back. He should always be remembered for the legend he is.

He might wear a red and white tie nowadays, but I'm sure he's still got black and white blood running through his veins!!
