Forget Promotion folks

Its very sad but last night showed me one thing and that is promotion went out of the window the day that Micky packed his bags for Sheffield!.

The appointment of Gannon was a disaster because he not only ruined the team spirit with his half cocked ideas and ******mindedness.

As well as the above he also lost us our players biggest asset FITNESS.

I well remember what Micky said at the beginning of the season ''We may not be as skilled as Premier teams but we can be as fit as them!''.

This I believe was our biggest strength, we were as fit as butchers dogs under Micky. Under Gannon I am told they used to walk through moves and sit watching Champions League teams. One thing is for sure you dont get fit by watching DVD's.

This has ruined our fitness level and last night though the 'spirit was willing but the flesh was weak'.

Personally I feel that failure this season could be a blessing because Gannon has helped the B & G campaign no end as I am convinced that if we got promotion or even into the play offs then we would find Bratt & Jackson impossible to remove.

Now it wont just be the protesters that don't purchase a season ticket. I believe that many of the more apathetic will choose to vote with their chequebook or the lack of it.

So if V2001 are removed we should all get down on our knees to Jim for a job very well done!!!=========

Hadn;t the rot set in before MA left for pastures new OS?....things were not right at VP even back then

Promotion has been looking less likely by the week I'll grant you but it isn't all over yet. The fitness can be regained relatively quickly and don't forget we're in a division full of massively inconsistent teams - us included. What the Adams - Gannon sage has really destroyed is the momentum we had and that will be the hardest thing to regain and, IMHO, was the differentiating factor in us looking promotion certs before Adams told the players he was leaving just before the Gillingham game.

Agree, but dont blame sage in this, they need a day off to get rid of the lactic acid.

No not really Werrit. Up until the Decenber deep freeze we went 12 games undeafeted and Micky won his 2nd Manager of the moth award. After this enforced break we lost our momentum but we only played 2 games both away before Addo jumped ship and the second one was when we knew that he was on his toes out of Vale Park so I dont feel that one counted as an accurate guide.

Im sure of one thing if the little git hadnt gone we would still be sitting pretty.======

werrington , pre sheff u rumours everything was ticking along nicely. only after the blades interest was revealed did things alter on the pitch . any manager worth his salt would have picked the reins up from mickey and kept us on an even keel , unlike gannon who took a jigsaw 50 percent complete , broke it to bits ,then started again.

 

i agree partly agree with sage re no promotion but i believe the next two games if won would put us back in with a shout. tbh all i really want is v2001 gone and to be rid of all the lies and deceit .

Why then has Grew given them today off? After all our so called "best" players havent played that much since Christmas so can`t be that tired?

Great point they should have been i today working their socks off.===
