My Take On Last Night….

I thought on the pitch Vale were quite lucky to gain a point – the team certainly bore no resemblance to the last time I saw Vale play pre-Christmas, I thought they lacked fitness and didn't have any cutting edge in the last 3rd of the field. Thought Hereford were a well organised team who'd done their homework on Vale, nullifying the midfield and looking dangerous on the break. Still can't understand the fitness issue, even after the recent troubles at the club they are after all professional footballers, one or two of the players lack self-discipline imo.

Off the pitch I thought the Vale support was magnificent, didn't note the attendance but thought it was a really good atmosphere, every one uniting behind the team, big thumbs up, great to see.

One observation (and I'm sure Ill get slated for this, board mole, etc etc) – I didn't personally see many black or gold scarves wearing fans. Not sure if they all congregate in one area but from where I was I think I noticed 2 in the ground all night. Went round after the game to see what the demonstrations where about, saw a few police outside the main entrance and on the steps and about 20 or so people standing around (more police tbh) but no 'protest' as such – it was straight after the game however and not sure how it works, maybe something happened later???????

Said before the game in reality needed 7 point from these 3 home games as on last nights showing I can't see many more points being gained on the road so the next 2 games are biggies. Not sure if I can make Saturday yet but will certainly be their next Tuesday.

UP THE VALE!!! ============

I read your comments on last night's game with interest and you called it pretty well.

Your problem was mentioning the B &G campaign. I think it was low key before and during the game because everyone wanted to get behind the lads. After the game the protest was the same as ever but in truth many myself included are getting ever more angry. The pattern is the same, the board either dont attend or scamper off early and we protest to an empty board lounge. Believe me if this board has one shred of commonsense they would listen because it will all end in tears. Ours in the short term but in the end it will be their turn. Make no mistake we will not go away we might not attend the games but we wont stop until all six are consigned to the history books. Lets hope for their sake it isn't as the board that sent Vale into extinction because if they continue that will be the scenario.=========

Banbell, as you have no history with Vale and zero understanding of the board situation at Vale, perhaps I should educate you slightly.

The name V2001 not surprisingly dates back to 2001. A collection of individuals who persuaded the fans that life under Bill Bell was not worth living, they used the internet

& OVF extensively to get their message across.

Here’s the interesting point, that was not one single organised or sustained demonstration against Bill Bell, now using the flawed logic of the custodians ruining [ note ruining not running ] my club [ not yours ] then all the fans fully supported Bell as no one bothered protesting......

I agree they didn't look fit enough, the game we played pre-gannon, and how Grewy wanted to play last night, was 'in your face and don't give them a second on the ball' and we struggled after a while. It was pretty obvious that hardcore fitness training had gone. And it will take a while to get it back.

Grew and Horse had half a day to change things back to 'normal'. No time at all.

A BIG positive for me last night was the heads not going down after they scored. Under <ovf censored> as soon as we went a goal down, heads dropped and it was game over. Last night we kept going and got a point.

Yes, I was disappointed with last nights performance and results, but I'm not going to do the typical Vale fan thing and get all downhearted after 1 game.

Well said that man!

Had an Eureka moment whilst swimming this morning. The man from the trees is a glory hunter, hedging his bets since St Michael put a dent in their chances.

No glory hunter mate, Forest since I was born, attend every game home and away.

Hope the swimming went well, hope it wasn't against the tide. ======

This I don't understand, I can understand another fan having a second team and taking an interest in the playing side but for someone to take so much interest in the politics and boardroom issues is very suspicious!

No, indoor pool while free slots are still available. I shall have to see what swims in my head next week.

Ok , with the tone and nature of your posts you seem to be on a wind up with every one so if you deny this and feel you are serious ,please enlighten us with your reasons why the Board should not be 'sacked' .

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the tone or nature of the original post. All the aggression and winding up has been from the "real Vale fans" who replied to it.

Read his posts , every one has a 'tone' to it ,almost fishing for an aggressive 'catch' - well he/she will certainly not be disappointed on here.

I also fail to see where there was any suggestion of aggression in my reply , I have simply asked a question of 'why he feels the Board should remain in 'situ' '.

I am quite prepared to discuss with anyone without aggression or a winding up tone to it , however when our East Midlands member posts there is always a little 'dig' somewhere to prompt a reply.

I notice you appear to be from that neck of the woods , not ganging up are you ?
