My Take On Last Night….

banbell

Recommended Posts

banbell , as you appear happy enough to be educated on the matter of port vale politics (survival) why not mention the next match you are about to attend and come and have a drink pre or post match (i will buy you a pint) , we can run a few things past you, to see what you think?

I'll be around next Tuesday for sure, I'll attempt to get there earlier than I did last night (20 minutes prior to kick-off ) and I'll come in the pub that was mentioned in the other thread and introduce myself, always happy to talk football ======

Banbell, as you have no history with Vale and zero understanding of the board situation at Vale, perhaps I should educate you slightly.

The name V2001 not surprisingly dates back to 2001. A collection of individuals who persuaded the fans that life under Bill Bell was not worth living, they used the internet

& OVF extensively to get their message across.

Here’s the interesting point, that was not one single organised or sustained demonstration against Bill Bell, now using the flawed logic of the custodians ruining [ note ruining not running ] my club [ not yours ] then all the fans fully supported Bell as no one bothered protesting......

You forgot to mention the bit about Mo turning his back on us!

Why do you want to discuss Vale matters, you have nothing to do with our club. Go away and post on your own website.

I don't agree with a fair bit of what he says, but if he pays to watch the game surely he is entitled to post his thoughts on it ?

It was my first appearance at the protests after the game and my take on it is this..........

1. 200 + fans all wearing black and gold scarves or ols PVFC shirts so much so that I felt a bit out of place. When the fans were singing "Black and Gold until its sold" most were being held aloft so really not difficult to see.

2. The protest was held in a great manner, why they needed 20 police and 20 stewards with at least another 20 at the end of the LS near the ticket office is beyond me, all good however as it is eating into the "war chest" with the policing bill. It was not threatening (plenty of kids around) and plenty of fans chatting to Mo.

3. Good banter as well, i liked the chap who kept shouting "And JACKSON" every time an anti Bratt song was sung.

All in all a very good showing for a Tuesday night game and shows how much the fans actually care about this club. One small criticism though (Tin hat on) can we prolong the songs for a bit longer than 10 seconds. Just as I thought the songs were in full throw we stopped and waited to start another song which took the momentum away.

Yes i've noticed him before - always does his protesting stood at the top of the steps, and only ever vocal with the "and Jackson" battle cry.:D

I thought on the pitch Vale were quite lucky to gain a point – the team certainly bore no resemblance to the last time I saw Vale play pre-Christmas, I thought they lacked fitness and didn't have any cutting edge in the last 3rd of the field. Thought Hereford were a well organised team who'd done their homework on Vale, nullifying the midfield and looking dangerous on the break. Still can't understand the fitness issue, even after the recent troubles at the club they are after all professional footballers, one or two of the players lack self-discipline imo.

Off the pitch I thought the Vale support was magnificent, didn't note the attendance but thought it was a really good atmosphere, every one uniting behind the team, big thumbs up, great to see.

One observation (and I'm sure Ill get slated for this, board mole, etc etc) – I didn't personally see many black or gold scarves wearing fans. Not sure if they all congregate in one area but from where I was I think I noticed 2 in the ground all night. Went round after the game to see what the demonstrations where about, saw a few police outside the main entrance and on the steps and about 20 or so people standing around (more police tbh) but no 'protest' as such – it was straight after the game however and not sure how it works, maybe something happened later???????

Said before the game in reality needed 7 point from these 3 home games as on last nights showing I can't see many more points being gained on the road so the next 2 games are biggies. Not sure if I can make Saturday yet but will certainly be their next Tuesday.

UP THE VALE!!! ============

go in the railway paddock you will see B & G scarfs also look at #59

You forgot to mention the bit about Mo turning his back on us!

Can you answer why the board are turning their backs on Mark Sims and why Bratty is refusing to answer Mark Sims phone calls or return them back?

Thats Mark Sims, multi-millionaire local businessman who is Vale mad

Do you think Mark Sims would turn his back on us?

That will be mark Simms who has backed Mo and openly criticised the board, he will no longer be classed as a genuine fan anymore by Bratt. This would be the same Mark Simms who Bratt was begging to invest just a few short weeks ago would it? Thankfully Mr Simms has a brain and can see what a desparate and useless lot V2001 are!!

Thats right!

The same Mark Sims that's ploughed £100's of thousands of pounds into Port Vale through sponsorship
