The night was a fantastic success, the auction raised a hell of a lot of money (prizes consisted of signed frank lampard shirt, signed arsenal shirt, jermain defoe's signed spurs shirt...etc) The chat with micky was good too hear... he mentioned a very interesting point about him and the people involved in the takeover talking about investment in the squad in January... Finally hats off to the comedian who was a joy to behold and had everyone in the room in stitches! All in all a fantastic night

Could it be a case, that after witnessing the Morecambe game first hand, Hank has pulled the plug on the RW suite and CW development and given all the £8 million to Micky. lol

Now where is my medication!!!:laugh:

Again, why do we have to wait till January ?

If there is money we can sign plaers on loan with a view to a permanent move in Jan,

Luton have done just that today

I would imagine it's a case where quite a lot of clubs are unwilling to do business in November with loan-to-permanent signings. There does seem to be a great unwillingness to do these sorts of deals. I'm prepared to wait until January for us to make some signings and hopefully we will.

I was sceptical to say the least when Mickey came back, for many of the reasons stated over here the last few days. I'm not entirely confident his heart is in it as much as it was last time. His confidence must have been sapped from the Blades affair and to come back to Vale after that can't have been a great feeling for him.

At some points this season i've thought we've got the old Mickey back, with some of his comments he's made. But his whole managerial philosophy is built behind being defensively sound and hard to beat. Have we been either of those two this season? I don't think so. Keeping Gary Roberts on when he had the opportunity to get rid for gross misconduct I feel was a mistake. The disciplinary grip he had on the squad will not be as strong anymore.

My original issue with Mickey was that he would more than likely have got us up last season, but what then? I was less than confident in his ability in the league above. He's not tactically astute, otherwise he would have shelved the 3 at the back thing a few weeks back. It was the same as last year, it worked for a bit until teams worked out how to get round it, then it was dross.

I really did like him at the Vale. His attitude in his 1st spell was fantastic and really got the team and the fans going but this time, it feels like we were his only option. I hope that feeling comes around again for me, but it's not there at the moment.
