Matchday Thread: Port Vale v Bolton Wanderers

I stand amongst the people you call "scum". I'm far happier being there than sat among the other 3-4000 Madame Tussauds dummies who contribute absolutely zero to the atmosphere.

I guess that makes me scum as well.

Your choice to stand where you like, as long as you don't condone their mindless and despicable actions I don't see that you have done anything wrong.

Not really sure that there was much violence. Their fans came on in celebration and our idiots were out-numbered so tried to get back although one trying to get back to Lorne Street decided to stop in the middle of the pitch and got nabbed while his two mates carried on running and presumably got away with it

Didn't you see the throwing of bottles, coins etc? There were also a few scraps on the pitch.

Punishment needs to be harder and then these 'hard guys' will disappear into the abyss hopefully.

I hope the club have learned a few lessons about the away end after the last 2 games just because it holds around 4500 you don't need to sell every seat it would be better if they covered up the front 6 rows of seats keeping the away fans completely away from the front of the stand stopping fans from standing on the barrier at the front and reducing the chances of fans getting onto the pitch. it doesn't really matter in league 2 with the away following we will be getting but its still the best way forward.

Despicable Give it a rest.

I'm actually glad we've got that element to our support. I've seen the alternatives at drippy clubs like MK Dons, Shrewsbury, Colchester and countless others.

Give me a raucous Paddock over a Stadium MK morgue any day.

The difference is although still a criminal act it was a protest rather than violence.

Fining the clubs isn't the answer, caging the scum is.

Flares were thrown at the Coventry games I mentioned and they were also held up for several minutes but Coventry seem to receive special treatment for some reason. Probably because everybody seems to feel sorry for them.

There is a middle ground between mindless idiocy and a morgue.

I am all for chanting and celebrating, but scenes like Saturday will put young/elderly people off coming, not that Vale fans were solely to blame.

2 weeks in a row there's been crowd issues between the members of the corner of the Paddock and a large away following. On both occasion Vale fans will protest they were 'provoked' but it all looked a bit tragic from the RS.

It isn't very often we fill the away end these days so I suppose they have to make the most of it?
