Richards did we let the wrong one leave

I know this will be a controversial subject ,

but with Justin doing the business @ Burton and Rico letting not only himself but the team down yet again did we let the right one go???

IMHO he has not done alot for vale for the last 12 months I know he has been injured but remember back to Jan when he also got sent off against Burton for violent conduct missing vital matches as well under Gannons rein

It's too early to say just yet, Marc has got off to a bad start with his injury and yesterday's sending off and yes Justin has got off to a good start but wait for the dust to settle before judging.

Pope was bought because it was easy !! We needed a forward on the cheap and Pope was hanging around the club.

Marc is the best player at the club, but he is very reliant on his fitness levels. He will srtuggle to get upto pace for alot of the season due to him missing alot of preseason and niggling injuries. I wouldnt put any money on him scoring 15 this term.

Richards is our best player. THe question isn't should which richards we should have let go. It is whether either williamson or pope are better than what we had. I would argue that pope does offer something different, though I haven't seen williamson play, but he doesn't seem to be staking a claim for a start where as Justin is on fire. It also suggests that Justin is getting better supply of assists. Don't forget last year we were struggling to create anything, and often winning by not conceding many goals.

No our failing was letting Justin go and bringing in a player to replace him on more money who has scored 1 goal in 9 games.

 

'Let us down YET AGAIN' - what on earth does that mean and how can you substantiate it when he is our most important player and (possibly Loft aside) is our most saleable asset. He was unlucky to be sent off last season and stupid for what he did vrs Shrewsbury a couple of years ago, YET AGAIN doesn't stack up.

 

Not done much in the last year? - He's scored 21 goals, at this rate it would take Popey 6 seasons to score the goals Rico has scored in the last year but at least he is a Vale fan!!

If he'd have stayed, would he be putting away the same chances now? Who knows...Good luck to him (just don't put any away against us). To sum up, the right decision was made by MA at the time.
