It's not long now before I celebrate again the anniversary of the greatest footballing moment of my life when we beat the S..t three one. The hairs on the back of my neck still stand on end as I recall Tin Foyles third goal. I remember stopping at a pub in Monyash on the way back to Sheffield and singing songs deep into the night with my old Sheffield Traveling Valiant friend, Ian White. What are your memories of that night.

I remember my sister had a seat in the next aisle to the rest of the family in the Bycars just behind the goal. When Lee Sandford scored their 'offside' goal a lardie jumped up next to her to celebrate at which point all hell broke loose. Vale fans descended upon him, my brother and I dived into rescue our sister. Fists and kicks were flying as the lardie was escorted unceremoniously out of the Bycars by which time I had missed Tin Foyle's stunning equaliser.

Good old Dave Regis. One of the finest moments in all football. You can forget all those glorious world cup moments. The sight of Dave Regis. Open Goal. Facing his own fans. First touch.

...and then the ball getting stuck in a puddle. Makes me laugh just thinking of it.

Was this also the match where Steve Foley tried to decapitate Aspo?

Also there was a moment when almost the entire Vale front line broke Stoke's off side trap and were left 4 on 1 with the goalie I think. The surprise of it put us off scoring I think.

We did score but the liner(wrongly) ruled offside when it was squared before we scored.
