Simple question, can they still be signed?? Could Smurf find a decent striker or centre half just to get us over the line. The sort of impact Innis had.

Even if we could, I'd rather trust someone who knows the first thing about football to find one.

if they are free agents then they can be signed but with free agents comes the problem of fitness as at this time of the season obviously they'd have to hit the ground running, there will be players available but would they be any better that those we already have as clubs wont have payed a players contract up or just released them without a reason.

It just worries me where the ruddy hell are the goals going come from keep us up. 5 draws, would need us scoring at least 2 on Sat or against Preston. Dodds maybe, perhaps an O'Conner free kick. Oh sod it I'm back to a dark room. :D

I thought the window to sign free agents closed at the same time the loan window did. I could be wrong mind.

i'm sure a club can sign an unattached player whenever ,it would be considered a restrictive practise surely under employment law.

Unless he contrived to be "unattached" ie come to some "arrangement" with his club to mutually cancel his contract and make himself unattached and then in some short time turn up at another Club and sign !! Bit like not being able to sign on the dole for some time if you just leave an employment.
