Norman rejects cash at the gate

How about a trial period of having a ticket office stay open until 7pm, perhaps 1 day a week. I live in Hanley, but work in Crewe, I can't get to collect tickets even for away games. The office closes at 5pm(i think). Most working fans finish at 5.30pm. How can they collect tickets? On a Saturday I'm working till 1pm and it is at least a 30min drive to Vale Park, that is even before I can get home and change my workwear. I would like to attend away games, but just can't get a ticket.

Instead of queuing at the ticket office, won't they just be queuing at the turnstile? How many people actually turn up, see the queue then go home? God help us if he had more than 6 thousand fans. You would have to queue up for every game! Just suck it up & get on with it

It's Normans' decision to reject the idea of cash turnstyles and as owner of the club he has every right to do as he pleases.

Just as folk who choose not to attend home games because there are no cash turnstyles have every right to choose as they will.

He's made his decision, they will make theirs - I am sure the club will not miss the cash.........?

Cash turnstiles are in the past - too easy for dodgy operators to pocket the money, etc. However, the current system of queuing up to buy a ticket is also pretty last century. The Ticketmaster system, where I could buy a ticket and print it out at home was perfect. What the club need is something like that, but without the exorbitant fees.

Agree. we need to look at the future and when all is taken into account it only effects sensible people for cup matches as most sensible people have season tickets.

I do agree, although it's hard for me to get there 3 hours early when im 33 miles away but that's my issue I guess.

Not having the option for paying on the gate isn't particularly a major problem for me, and I live a good 180+ miles, (3 hour journey from Burslem).

For the few exiled Valiants (like myself, London Valiants etc), it should really be a straightforward process to get a ticket and solve these issues prior to the 3pm kick off (and still have good ample time to booze in the pub), by either:

a) getting your parent's/family relatives to get you a ticket in advance in the week, or

b) getting one of your mates based locally to get you a ticket in advance.

Pretty simple really; I just get my Mum to go upto the ticket office to get a ticket for when I come back for the odd home game at Vale Park.
