Season is over.

Exactly. The amount of anxiety you sense in the crowd as soon as a player with nothing on knocks a ball square or backwards is palpable. It isn't the old days any more. This is the sort of mentality we need to move away from.

It unnerves me whenever Duffy has the ball at his feet. Beyond that, I think we are reasonably competent in possession, whoever has the ball.

In the Railway Paddock/Stand behind me can't wait to start screaming to 'Gerrit upfield' as soon as someone even thinks about a pass across the back four.

True, but neither do I like to see the aimless possession football, where teams get 70% possession stats by just passing it around in their own half with hardly any attempt to move forward. Even worse is passing it around along the back 4, then passing it back to the keeper, who then lumps it forward. Attendances in our football are high, despite the high cost compared to other countries, because it's all action. We now have defenders who are capable of bringing the ball forward, so let's see how we develop.

Tony, I agree. Whilst keeping possession is good to do, it's only good if you eventually make an attack out of it and have possession in the final third. But low percentage long balls forward aren't the answer, like we were doing last season (Neal rolls out to Robertson, Robertson lumps ball in general vicinity of Pope, lose ball, repeat 5 minutes later when we get the ball back). I have no idea why we just punt it forward off goal kicks, get the ball short out of defence and into the defenders feet and build play from there.

But when we do play the ball back to the keeper, some of the crowd react worse than when we concede a goal! No wonder the keeper lumps it, the longer he has it the longer the boos continue. I think the football will improve and I have already seen a good improvement since Page has taken over. The more they work on playing football on the floor, the better it will become as long as the boo boys stay off their backs for passing sideways.

Season is over ,yes it is in terms of attracting new support too the club .

Thats what a run in any cup does.

In terms not so we have a good enough team finish sixth if the players turn up which just lately they have in fairness ( league).

We had no idea v MK dons first half forget the scoreline they were miles better than us .

Funny thing is last 15 we looked more like it when Daniel and Moore came on .

Anyway its gone now but Page was outmanoeuvered by the Mk manager.

As soon as we went ahead a change should have been made immediately as they were outmanoeuvering us .

Lets beat Rochdale and get it going again .

This is a good team if we get Moore going its potentially even more good.

So the only thing that causes attendances to rise is a run in the cup? I'd like to see that supported with evidence.
