Boomer needs your help,HELP HELP HELP, my son as been discharged from hospital with memory problems can not speak or remember anything, they said he will receive therapy at home, we have paid our taxes all our lives and now they say it will be next year before they can send a speech therapist, who do I go to for help, MY SON NEEDS HELP NOW NOT NEXT YEAR! Maybe it's because we are British please help me if you know what I can do

I would urge you to do three things. Firstly contact your local MP. Secondly contact the local media the sentinel and radio stoke. Thirdly ask those people who said they won't provide swift support who is the person or body you can appeal to regarding this matter. Write to them and make sure they see that you 'cc' ing your MP and the sentinel and radio stoke in on the letter. Keep a copy but send a copy to all three and ask them help campaign against this injustice. Keep letter to the minister for education up your sleeve including copied to the nationals. There is a general election around the corner use it to your advantage.

I do know Gav from years ago(played footy with him at lads n dads) so I know the history of the problems he's had. Not sure what how the current issue started but can I suggest not only doing what 24n92 has advised but also contact dougie mac help line, they could possibly give you some advise on how to put this forward whether it comes under there area of expertise or not, alternatively you could look to go private (although I don't kno why you should have too) good luck

Terrible thing to hear but unfortunately with the strain this country is under it's not surprising.

 

He who shouts the loudest. Get the media involved and make an example of the shocking service that is provided when it comes to rehabilitation. I've seen it with a couple of family members and we were told to 'deal with it'. This country would prefer to invest money in services we do not need like HS ruddy 2 when people are suffering.

 

Pray that you get what you need and deserve quickly.

he had a stroke last week and lost a lot of his memory, cant recognise simple things, they said if they discharge him they will continue his treatment at home , we thought ok, so 24 hours after his release , they rang to say the therapy team might be able to squeeze him in around Jan 2015, and the EU are asking for another 55 billion aday, its a joke , when we cant supply nurses to our own country
