Should you be allowed the trappings and wealth that football gives when commiting crimes of this nature. I know people that have served time for financial irregularities that struggle getting work packin bog roll when they were released. This bloke is going back to a thousands of pounds a week lifestyle whilst his victim probably still has nightmares. What if it was your daughter, sister or mother would you be so lenient and forgiving then as long as he is scoring goals?

If you're going to go on about the system finding him guilty so he's guilty etc (and I support that) then you also have to accept that the system has deemed he has served his time and is free to pursue his career..the system is what is it..with all its flaws

For me it makes no difference whether he is a footballer, a plumber, a roadsweeper or whatever...only something like the police, the law or maybe financial jobs should it have any impact where the crime is direcly relevant..it calls into question your honesty or integrity

The sentence should have been a lot longer such that he would have been too old on release to resume his career but it's done now

He's been punished, and if we had no problem signing Hughes where loss of life was involved, I don't see why we shouldn't sign him. I might add that although I had doubts about signing Lee Hughes at the time, he turned out to be a model professional. let him who is without sin cast the first stone and all that.....
