It was all abit sad for any of us who remember the glory days at liverpool in the 70s/80s and saw their thrilling football last season. The slide from last season has been shocking and a club like Liverpool should not sink so quickly just cos they have lost two star players..they should have been able to replace them to at least still compete near the top.

 

Europa league isn't going to help them in the PL either

 

However, they should stick with Rodgers and give him a chance to turn it around..by some good recruitment in january, good selection for the rest of the season and to be honest give him the summer and next season as well.

When Liverpool signed Suarez he wasn't a known big/world class player though, he had the talent and potential to develop into one from his time at Ajax. If they can't compete with the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd then that is the route then need to go down. i.e. signing players from what are percieved as Europe's lesser leagues(I struggle to call Ajax a lesser side with their history but I suppose these days the Dutch league isn't seen as big as the Premiership or La Liga etc)

 

Correct, and huge credit has to go to Rodgers for playing a part in how Suarez improved as a player, would you not agree? Also, that's exactly the route Rodgers went down with the signing of Markovic, a player who was touted by all the top clubs in Europe over the last year or two. At the moment it hasn't come off, but Suarez didn't exactly hit the ground running either for us, at least in comparison to the player he is now.

Falcao.Oh no ,sorry ,he wasn't interested.Liverpool won't spend 40/50m to get in a top player.They prefer to buy Lambert at 4m and supersiht Mario for 16m.They can't compete at the top level with United,Chelsea,City and even Arsenal when it comes to attracting players,Suarez being the exception.Good luck in the league cup.Youve got a chance as long as Bournemouth field a weakened team.Sturridge is crocked,as in the present.

 

Lambert has scored more goals than Falcao so far this season. Fact. The latter is now a crock who in his managers words can't even complete a half, nevermind a full game of football. An absolutely huge waste of both wages and time. If he had of signed for Liverpool you would have been spouting here about how much of a crock he is no doubt and that Rodgers should be sectioned for even contemplating signing him. :rolleyes:

But still nowhere near the player he became while at Liverpool...

 

In his first season it used to take him 4 or 5 chances to score, while being extremely inconsistent. Scoring lots of goals in the Dutch league is nothing to write home about when the likes of Mateja Kezman did exactly the same thing before coming over here.

Oh, and the numpty who made that thread, if it is a thread you're talking about as I have absolutely no intention of looking, is probably a fool that was dribbling down his chin just earlier this year when Liverpool were taking the **** out of sides under Rodgers playing some unbelievable football.
