The last bit is the most telling....

"Within a short amount of time, nearly every Premier League stadium will have wi-fi,"

"Everyone's got a phone with them, checking other things. The days have gone where people are completely engrossed in the match."

Not often I agree with you!;)

You're bob on. It's everywhere. I just cannot understand why people need (so they tell me) to be poncing about on their phones 24/7

Maybe I'm not as crazy as people say? ;)

Personally speaking, if I'm watching the Vale (or for that matter any team game) I don't want to have a communication with anyone unless it is (a) relevant to the game in question and, importantly, (b) during a period when play is suspended momentarily.

The exception may be cricket (but not when the bowler is on his run-up).

Oh, and baseball. Except when I'm watching the grass grow.

Just think of the benefits when it is freezing cold on a winter night with the wind howling and the rain coming down. You can send your robot, with your face on the front, to the game. You will be warm and cozy in your own comfy chair by the fire, and with the technology then in place view the game through your robots eyes beamed onto your 50" PASMA 5:1 surroundsound TV. No more having to queue for the portaloos or outside the cafe at the back of the Railway Stand.

So basically I'll send my avatar to attend the match and see it thru his (or maybe her ;) ) eyes. I can enjoy all the pies and my avatar will be the one carrying the flab!!!

I can send my avatar on the pull and enjoy the rewards whilst he/she (maybe not she in this scenario) puts all the effort in.

Why has no one suggested this before..they should make a film about it..although I've no idea what the title should be
