I like Matt. Him and Mick on a Saturday are a great pair to listen to,however, his tone tonight was a disgrace.

 

The way he constantly has to "distance" the station from anything anti board is disgusting.

 

He seemed to be very critical towards Mo yet was "Yes sir no sir three bags full sir" to the Ameriturf representive.

 

His going on about how great it is to have good training pitches and that is what Stoke have and we can attract better players because of it was unbelievably naive.

 

You were a disgrace tonight Matt and showed your true colours.

Don't be too harsh on Matt. Mike Lloyd wanted 45 minutes, the same as Mo. He was given 4 :D

must agree with your comments, sandoz was yes sir no sir three bags full sir. mo held his own and did not let any question back him into a corner. mike lloyd or should we say laughing boy and the amateur company rep they answered some really searching and challenging questions NOT, well done matt hardcore reporting.

caroline , if mike lloyd wanted 45 mins they should have given it to him , he wouldnt have lasted though as he would have made his excuses and left early , he wouldnt have been able to answer the multitude of questions . saying that he would probably have just laughed for 40 minutes anyway its all so hilarious.

He gave Mo the floor to sell himself and his bid for a good half hour.

Too much floor in some eyes / ears. But he then came back strong like all good interviewers should do when he entered the challenge phase and put some tough yet fair questions which rattled Mo a bit, and the summarising stage was fair and balanced too.

Ok, I'll bite...

 

You think that the consultant from USPlastics (or whatever they're called) and Llloyd were put under the same level of tough questioning as Mo? If so, then you really are an idiot. If not, then why not -in your opinion, of course? Don't you think that an outside investor who is set to become the largest single shareholder should be put under the sternest scrutiny, as Mo has been put under scrutiny? Or do you trust the board 100% on everything?

Unfortunately I can honestly say that Lloyd was not questioned to the same degree. I want the board to stand up and answer some searching questions, and then the shareholders and fans could offer a balanced decision at the EGM. In truth I would like to hear a Bratt/Mo debate on air.

I agree with the opening post wholeheartedly but this only served to show Mo in a better light because his responses when challenged by Matt Sandoz were excellent.

I'd like the same. I'm forever disgusted and yet not surprised by the easy ride

the board gets from the media. Mind, I always remember an interview by Tony Walley on one of those old Vale on Video things in the 90s when he asked Rudgie the typical kind of soft local journalist question about JR and Bill Bell:

 

"John, there has been speculation that you and the Chairman have fallen out - there's no truth to it though, is there?"

 

To which Rudgie answered that they had fallen out!

 

Walley then asked the same question to Bell later in the video, only in an even more crawling way. Bell completely denied any fall out!

Ugh I knew there'd be a thread like this as soon as I listened to the programme. It is a journalists job to play devils advocate and put the other point across. Sandoz did this and Mo answered all the questions very well, which strengthened Mo's position.

 

People on here seem to slate any journalist who dares to try to put across the other side of the argument. Yes it's a very emotive subject for fans but everyone seems to expect that every member of the local press should vehemently back Mo's bid and talk about how amazing he is and how bad the board are. Any failure to do that prompts a hysterical reaction on here!

 

When Jeremy Paxman grills some politician it's not because he's being "biased" one way or the other, it's cause he's doing his job! Radio Stoke and Sentinel people aren't exactly in the same league but you get the idea.
