Teacher stabbed to death at Leeds school

That's not feasible cos it will have been the system that got it wrong not the people..for example you can't blame the jury if the evidence was compelling yet subsequently proven to have been incorrect.

One issue with juries is that they are less likely to return a guilty verdict if they know that the accused would face the death penalty..and you can't excuse people from jury duty just cos they are against the death penalty

Compelling isnt enough.

There is and always will be doubt... the jury thought there was no doubt in the derek bentley case... they thought the same about timothy evens.

What happened at Belsen, Dachau, Treblinka, Sobibór, Auschwitz Majdanek etc were atrocities... albert fish committed atrocities, children tortured, killed, dismembered and eaten... as tragic as this incident is it isnt atrocious.

Its an atrocious and sub-human act.

Whilst I can't agree that watching violent films or playing violent games makes you want to go and repeat those actions, there's no doubt in my mind that surrounding yourself with day-to-day 'manufactured' violence can desensitize an individual to the extent where gradually they can become almost immune to it, and see these barbaric actions as less of a 'big deal'.

Alright the evidence of guilt was enough for them to justifiably return a guilty verdict; if new evidence emerged or some of that evidence was subsequently proven to have been wrong or even deliberately false the jurors cannot be blamed for making an honest decison based on the evidence presented to them..no more than if they find someone not guilty who is guilty
