Why 7.15 kick off

It is if you think about it.... kids today will be fans tomorrow... the more that do the better

Agreed...As Abraham Lincoln said:

"A child is a person who is going to carry on what you have started.

He is going to sit where you are sitting,

And when you are gone,

Attend to those things which you think are important.

You may adopt all the policies you please,

But how they are carried out depends on him.

He will assume control of your cities, states and nations.

He is going to move in and take over your

Churches, schools, universities and corporations....

The fate of humanity is in his hands."

I'm sure he had a 7.15pm kick-off in mind when he said it.......

That Abe Lincoln were right sexist

But he hit the nail on the head

you aren't getting to the game on time anyway then

The question was "Does 30 mins really make that much difference for people?"

My point was that if it's moved to 7:15 then the half hour does make a difference if you finish work at 7:15. If it's 7:45 then you will possibly get there in time

Reminded me of in the late 70s/early 80s my Stoke supporting missus and her mate asked me if I'd go with them to watch Stoke play Man City in the League Cup at the old Vic. I said I had to work late so would go straight from there.

Turned out I didn't finish work until 8.50 so got to the ground to find the exit gates wide open, the match still in progress as it had gone to extra time. Watched almost the whole of ET and then penalties - which Stoke lost, hee hee - and which was apparently the best part of the game - all for nowt.

You may ask what this has to do with us playing Bury in the Paint Pot but the moral is, if you have to work late, just turn up - you never know.

It's the ethos of the competition- it's for the family. There is also no extra time, it's straight to penalties for the same reason that kids can come and get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Assuming that no one would be silly enough to bring a child under about 6 to a match (as they wouldn't understand it, and be bored) then how many kids get to bed at a 'reasonable hour' these days? Do many 9 and 10 year olds go to bed before 10pm - I doubt it.

Dunno..I know my nieces 9 and 10 year olds are in bed by 9 every night when it's a school night; they actually take themselves off to bed afterr teeth brushing etc

Anyway, I'm all in favour of the idea
