Will the old "family stand" be open?

VOG.....Its a shame BUT your dated Stand is gone forever......Seats have already been removed in places and parts are roped off........Does that answer your question. ??

Not really. The bottom has always been roped off, and given that people have said they have their season ticket in there, it could be interesting if their seat has been removed! I'm assuming if seats have been removed it was in the past week, given that it looked normal last Tuesday!

What I'm saying Jimmy is that thus far, you have told me that the family stand has been moved, and that seats are being removed. Looking at the photos from the open day, the stand looks exactly the same, and that was only a couple of days ago. Other posters in this thread have said that their season tickets for that exact stand have been renewed, which in reality conflicts with the message that you are giving me. Using capital letters doesn't make what you say any more official, and frankly the only official word is that the family aspect has been moved into the Bycars, up until the completion of the second half of the Lorne St. I was asking on here, primarily, to see if I had missed an official announcement about the future of the stand, and it seems that I haven't. Forgive me for not taking your word as gospel, but given that there are conflicting reports from people on this thread, I'll wait and see what the club say!

My opinion for what it is worth. There will be a new Family area within Lorne St (Hamil end) after the shop has moved, etc. As an interim measure part of Bycars will be used to entertain the children, and people who wish to remain in the existing stand can do so. When the Lorne St area opens, the interim will close. Assuming all children would want to move to the new Family, who would be left in the Existing Family area? Thus likely to be uneconomic to keep open.

I understand what you are saying, but that would assume that the family stand actually contained families. In reality, it was family in name only, as it was primarily filled with people such as myself who have sat there for years (I'm 25 now, and have been there for at least the past 6 years), OAPs and adults who have grown up kids and never fancied moving. The facilities became an extension for the railway paddock, given that the staircases lead to the same place!

If they have taken the decision to close it, so be it, I just want a definite answer from the club! :)

If that is the case, and the fence comes down to allow Bycars to use the toilets, etc, why not put up a case for leaving things as they are, maybe to gain access via Bycars turnstiles to save a gatekeeper? Unless there are other plans for the area of course.

The old Family Stand will be OPEN but now known as the Corner Stand!!! While we await the second half of the Lorne Street to be finished (which will be come the new Family Stand) the corner of the Bycars by the Disabled Stand will be used as a temporary family area as it has sufficient room and facilities for kids entertainment, competitions and giveaways that the old Family Stand did not.

I hope this is all clear?

Thanks a lot, I assume the New Family stand will be only for families, i.e. with a child.
