After 46 games the league table won't lie.

I know it hurts, especially when we have been 2nd since August !! but i'm fed up with people saying we don't deserve to finish out of the top 3 after the season we have had. Some on here were saying a few weeks ago the Burton don't deserve to go up automatically as they only get gates of 2000 !

I'm afraid the table will be the true indicator as to where we will finish, and if it says we are the 5th or 6th best team in league 2 then thats just how it is.

Lets just hope we ARE one of the top 3 teams but with 27 points to play for we could finish top or 10th !!!

You are spot-on, however, it has certainly been a very strange league this season with no stand-out dominating teams. Both Vale and Gillingham have been extremely fortunate to hold onto the the top spots for so long, mainly due to other results going in our favour when we've slipped up. Stangely, for me the best teams we've played at VP have been Chesterfield and Fleetwood who both battered us, but both look unlikely to feature in any promotion campaign. Without the distractions and fatigue of cup runs, I'm sure Bradford would have been promoted as Champions. But as you say the league table won't lie after 46 games.

Its still ours to lose,but this is relegation form and to be honest i really dont know now how this season is going to end up for us.Id be happy with 7 points out the next 3 games,which the 3 teams are all in the bottom 8.

Totally agree. If we finish in the top 3 we will deserve it if we don't we won't. It is still in our hands but we need a rapid change in form to stand any chance.

I would love to share your optimism Dave, sadly I fear the worst based on previous seasons.

I can't see where the next win is coming from, I do hope we go up this year, failure to do so would not only be heartbreaking for many fans but it would leave a massive financial hole for the new owners
