No doubt the last two matches have been against poor opposition, but the additions of Darren van Purse and Jones look inspired.

 

Van Purse is exactly what we needed at the back...vocal, dominant, commanding - he's like an acceptable John Terry.

 

Jones looks very accomplished, with some capability pushing up the flank too.

 

Chilvers and Duffy complete a solid back four who look more comfortable game after game.

I agree, but would still replace Chilvers with Boom Boom once he is match fit which will hopefully be end of Feb and ready for a tuff March!

Let's wait till we face some decent opposition after the Barnet and Morecambe games.

We had a clean sheet against an Accrington team who hadn't score in their previous 3 games with 11 men.

Had it not been for Neal, we'd have conceded a couple yesterday, so the back 4 wasn't solid. Midson got clean through and they had 2 more chances late on.

Hopefully, with time, they'll work out how to cope with counter attacks when Jones has bombed up to the opposing corner flag.

Got to expect the keeper to have to make a couple of saves each game. Bit harsh to say they weren't solid because of that. I
