Jarlsberg is the best cheese ever, yes!

 

Prices are only relative to what you earn though.

You get a bar job you are on 15 quid an hour plus tips and tips can work out at around 15 quid an hour as well!!

An Electrician working 35 hrs a week would get around 40k a year.

On a football front I'd say it's easier than getting one over here. That's why so many clubs send their African players to Norway so they can get a permit over here. And super Demar Phillips got one no problem! Man City did with a few Ghanaians they have too. And 35% is better than the top earners here. So it's a good screw if they're on decentish wages that amount to more than 100k a year.

 

35% is the tax rate for your average Joe. Big earners would be taxed around 60% i think.

All sounds so similar to Finland. Prices are a bit lower here though, but still expensive compared to the UK. Tax is ... well ... ridiculous and seems to be a Scandinavian trait. VAT just went up again and it stands at 24%.

 

In Helsinki, you can get a pint for about 6 Euros in a good bar. My local (15 miles north of Helsinki) has one room for drinking and a single toilet. The bar has space for about 20 people comfortably. Even there it's 4.50 Euros / pint.

 

I see this lad Samba played for Haka over here which is an average Finnish club. 7 games, no goals. The Finnish league is a pretty poor standard, if that is anything to judge him by.
