Was it you or do you know this person?

Parked my car up May Street before the match, walked down the road and a black range rover (think it was the model before the one thats out now), don't think it was brand new pulled up with 2 blokes around 40 in. There was a young girl parked in a newish clio, something had obviously happened on the road just before. They pulled over, the driver started screaming at the top of his voice "don't you tell me to **** off" whilst the passenger stared fiercely at her. The girl was clearly scared **** less and was apologetic then the driver was shouting he would rip her ****ing head off. Now these blokes were 40ish this girl was very young and it was bang out order. If you're on here you should be ashamed of yourselves threatening a girl who is less than half your age. If anyone knows who these blokes are you should have a word, bang out of order. Nothing surprises me in Burslem any more.

If you have enough information report it to the police. You can probably do this online. It will seem like nothing has happened because it is likely the girl didn't report it. Nonetheless it goes in to the criminal intelligence system and it may come up with a ping on them in the future perhaps when stopped for speeding etc. Then it will influence the Police view of their next situation.

Did you stand up for her? If not why not?

I am interested to know what your plan of action would have been in the situation? Please.

The way I see it is that although the girl was obviously shaken up the range rover drove off and no heads were ripped off. Please explain how getting involved could have ended up with a better outcome?

Quite agree - there was no actual physical harm despite the anger.

I once passed an incident when a man stopped his car, ran passed me up an alley way shouting something. He then grabbed a school girl and tried to take her away from her mother.

I kept walking on my way which happened to be in the direction he left his car. The engine was still running. Kept an eye on the proceedings whilst purposely dawdling and decided in the next few paces that if things got worse I'd grab his car keys and make sure the girl was ok.

In the end the mother (I believe the man was the girl's father) calmed the situation down and nothing more happened.

Sometimes its better to see how things pan out rather than dive in with a big Superman "S" on your chest.

I think you are right to be careful about getting involved. One remembers the grannie with the handbag seeing off the jewelry shop thieves, but that could equally have resulted in her death. Getting involved here was likely to lead to a fight or jumping in the car and using it as a weapon etc. Apart from confrontation there is the note and report action, which you are contemplating and presumably the console and agree to be a witness action if the girl had wanted it.
