We missed the boat with paladini

Travelled back from the ground into Torquay yesterday with a QPR season ticket holder waxing lyrical on how Paladini has totally transformed his club with the amount of investment he has brought in.

 

I asked him if he thought he was an honest man though as we at Vale had been told he wasn't in the best interest of our club.

 

The reply - 'We are on our way to the Premier League next year, who cares'

 

We allowed ourselves to be conned by Bratt and Jackson once and now history may well repeat itself.

 

Thank God it wont happen a third time because after Stoke's result today cash-strapped PVFC under Billy Liar will not be around much longer.

 

At this present moment in time I would love to see us go into Admin and either come out strong or go under completely.

 

After 50 odd years I've had enough of a club that is full of Directors who have no ambition other than to go from begging bowl to begging bowl.

That moment in the club's history was spun as a wonderful success at the time...Jackson was portrayed as the saviour. It smelt odd at the time as I recall.

Today's event's could be more positive for Vale if we take the opportunity.We need to grasp this opportunity right now and grab it by the scruff of the neck and ram this opportunity of success even though it is for Stoke right down the throats of Virus 2001.

Yes it has - when V2001 took over, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and turned a blind eye. That's when it all started and Machin basically warned us as much.

 

It is the worst thing - to trust and be betrayed. If M & M do take over, good people need to stay vigilient, and that is the most negative thing I will ever say about the bid from Mo and Mark.

Let's not pretend that it would have been any rosier under Machin's and Paldini's leadership. Hindsight is wonderful unlike the current board but I don't think it was a mistake to turn them down. There is a million and one reasons why QPR are a bigger success than those two.

A copy of the minutes of the V2001 Board meeting with Paladini have come into my possession and surprise surprise it looks like he really did offer the full amount (not the 25K Bratty said) and he was well and truly shafted.

Machin's words at the General Meeting have turned out to be very prophetic ...

 

I can't guarantee that the agreement I have drawn up with Paladini that I have covered every possibility, but what I do know is that Port Vale will go into a very long and slow painful death if we don't accept this offer.

I can remember speaking to Paladini with my dad at sheffield wednesday away in 2003 or 2004 seemed a nice guy.... got his autograph too :D
