Summer transfer rumours/speculation and retained list

Featured Replies

When you get relegated you are easy pickings for other teams, who look to see if you have anyone worth pinching, It’s also possible a few could have either relegation clauses or a forced drop in wages due to relegation which makes them want to try and find a move, personally I wouldn’t be overly surprised if some of those under contract moved on like George Hall, Cam Humphries or Ben Waine, the hardest part will be offloading the likes of Shipley, Marosi.

At the end of the day the squad needs a reset so we just have to deal with the consequences of this disaster season.

Lad wants to play football. I’m sure if he was in with a look in for the first team he’d want to be with us. He loves our support iirc so I think what you’re saying here is unfair.

I believe he has said that he wants to stay where he is in Scotland. If so he is going to find it difficult to get motivated if we force him to return to Vale Park.

That doesn’t change anything I said. He wasn’t happy to have had to leave for a second time because Brady froze him out. He’s not going on the airwaves to tell supporters of his loan club he can’t wait to get back either, is he.

And target him like Byers and John

Targeted or not both are really injury prone anyway

Kyle John played 36 games this season, joint 8th on the Vale outfield players list.

Kyle John ??

Perhaps but even he has a question mark over him in terms of fitness. If we are going to have a smaller squad then we can't afford too many injuries.

So, are you saying get rid of all 30+ players. The whole. Start again...??

Nope, not what I said at all.

Some are under contract and I don't think we will have many teams queuing up to take those off our hands

People, including me, are making lists of players they want to keep and if we put everyone's lists together then collectively we have made a case for keeping every one of them.

What I am saying is what I said they have all let us down and I can't think of any who are must keep.

I can make a case for some staying, and I have, but there are none who I would be gutted to lose and I think that's the first time Ive felt that in my 50+ years as a fan.

sounds great but we played about 57 games this season and considering the number of injuries we have suffered this season 8th best isn't great he has played 25 out of 46 league games which is poor.

We played 61 games this season, and only 3 outfield players got into the 40s in appearances, and none into the 50s.

The days of players turning in 60+ appearances in a season are behind us, so 36 appearances in a season is respectable and not a mark of an injury-prone player.

Wonder if Ojo will join another club in LG 1 and pick up yet another relegation?😁

25 from 46 league games is poor, slice it however you like. We have a squad full of injury prone players because dm kept signing them. You are comparing the record of an injury prone player with a dozen other injury prone players and crucially you are ignoring the fact that john got picked whenever he was fit whilst many of those who played less than him were available but weren't picked.

The day and age is irrelevant in any era 25 from 46 games is useless and if every player was as bad we would need to sign 3 for every position and have a bigger squad than we had this year. JB says he wants a smaller squad so god help us if all we can expect from them is 25 games each.

Lincoln have 11 players who played 38 or more games over the season ( we had 5) four of them played over 50 games (we had none who played that many)  5 more played over 40 (we had 4) are their players from a different era?

I don't expect them to play 60 games but I do expect the majority to be playing around 40-45 . We only had 4 players do that this season.

Croasdale played more games than john.

All true, i do think we will lose Gabriel though, i can see him and Humphries getting offers from league 1

At least they will bring in transfer fees unless they have clauses in their contracts which allow them to leave on a free but i cant see that
