Regarding Ben Waine and Elliot Embleton, it would be pretty disappointing if we signed either of those.
We don’t need another midfielder just to make up the numbers, we now have 5 midfielders in byers, garrity, croasdale, walters and shipley, rico to fill in there if needed and we still have ojo on the books. We only really need a young midfielder on loan to add to that unless we can make a statement signing instead.
And Waine couldn’t even get into mansfield’s team the 2nd half of last season, and we all know how poor they were in January onwards. 
 

Garrity and particularly Byers struggle to stay fit. Them 2 go down again (and Byers defo will) and we're down to bare bones again. Any manager would probably overstock in that area with those 2

Why is OVF suddenly checking that I'm human? I know I'm closer to 50 than 40 now and the grey is sprouting, but come on

There's a separate thread on this. It is to stop a multitude of bots that are slowing the server down. Those surges causes incidents like when the site constantly crashes (which is no good for any of us) hence the action to keep them out. Also more bots = potentially higher server costs and more costs ultimately may mean more adverts - so again it's helping us all by keeping the costs down too.  It's only a brief check so hopefully not too much of an inconvenience.

Genuine question - why? His record outside of the NL isn't brilliant, he's getting on now, and he had more yellow cards than goals last season. I always trust the manager to bring in who they see fit and will only judge when they've played for us, but at face value this smacks of the first limb of the VF signing matrix which if it was someone with that record we hadn't heard of would be roundly derided on here

Fabulous lower league career but at 33 years old and under contract I can’t see a L1 club paying a transfer fee for him.

I think at nearly 34 he will be looking for a 2yr deal somewhere(maybe wanting to see if he can do it in League One before he finishes playing)
