He's better than a backup centre mid though he's quality, the dilemma is that he's so good at left back

With the signings we have made so far I'm starting to think Loft will be playing at left back.

i agree loft proved his worth last season and is one of the better center mids in the league, still i personally would go with shuker ahead of loft

I'd like us to sign a quality attacking/goalscoring midfielder, if we did Loft would be fine for left back, but we would need to bring in a young left back on loan or even on a one year deal. Or we could just add to the quality already brought in and get a decent left back. The options are endless because everybody is so versatile.

Pre season needed for Micky Adams to make decisions. He has created a greater capability to play 532 or maybe he sees Davis as a player who can be used in midfield or at full back. Has Loft decided he wants to be a left back?

What has he proved?

 

The proof will be in the results. Whilst things are looking promising, lets not get ahead of ourselves and lets add a touch of realism here. We may yet have anotherfinish outside of the top 7.

Im a fan of Adams but hes proved nothing yet. Lets hope we can mount a promotion challenge BUT lets not get too carried away. We have done that before and the fall is not nice.

I'd like to see Dodds play Upfront or just off the striker, he has plenty of goals in him! Surely we can't leave Loft out after the season he's just had?

Nobody is suggesting we should leave loft out, hes our best player. I don't think we will sign another keeper; unless we get someone on loan for cover, strikers are the key now

Now don't hold me to this, but from MA's interviews yesterday i get the feeling he may try and deploy Duffy at left back next season.

I would argue its a waste of money getting another keeper ahead of other areas. We have a good keeper now, any other will sit on the bench, so why not let our young keeper have that experience. If the new guy gets injured we use the loan market. Spend our money on players we need in the first team.

We are very quickly developing the sort of squad to be very competitive in this league next season. It is on paper, the strongest league for a very long time with the likes of Rotherham, Chesterfield, Fleetwood, Oxford, Southend etc all looking to be real promotion candidates next season. Once we have gained FL approval, which is a complete irritation, but which seems a mere formality after the developments since the start of pre-season training, i think we can all settle down and seriously look forward to a solid season. Its really out of our hands at the minute but i am considerably happy at how the squad is shaping up at this present time.
