It's disgusting, isn't it? Just done with impunity, so brazen. I see the West Midlands Mayor is encouraging the local council to force the owners to rebuild brick-by-brick and limit any further use to a pub. Hope there's jail time (at least) for the perpetrators (who definitely aren't the new owners who recently bought it).

Trying to find who bought it but not seen it publicised. Really hope they are forced to re build it to how it was.

Organised crime in full view. This thing happens a lot, especially with old pubs. They get burned down and suddenly they receive planning permission for new houses and flats. I assume the owner booked a holiday in Spain for this week, so they couldnt possibly have anything to do with it. This should lead to fines so big that their company is no longer viable, and prison sentences for the owners. I have zero expectation that either will happen. Planning permission will be granted and that will be that.

Apparently the BBC are reporting that Staffs Police have announced this is now subject to a criminal investigation into suspected arson.
