was Froggatt's faster than Bogie's V Stoke, or Michael Husbands against some one......I missed both of them, wasn't in the ground by the time they happened.......

 

I don't quite go back as far as some of you, I only started when we played Spurs (glory hunter??) so I missed the really really bad players - well, up til now, that is........I get the impression we had a much better standard of incompetence back then, and although we may have known better, we were more accepting.......these days we expect better!!

Very true Magicflask - there was an implicit understanding back then that although some of thes players were truly awful, we could joke about it afterwards in the pub, because we had been through so many fallow years before that - it didn't seem to matter. They really were quality in terms of their incompetence. Now of course, we have a generation that can remember the glory years, so the present crop of underachievers get more stick. We seem to be an angrier bunch of fans somehow, which is a shame.

Well, Terry Owen, Michael's Dad, was a Vale player back in the day - but it must have been a bad day all round if young Michael was conceived on the car park!

Husbands was something equally daft.....we need a statto person........bogie's was deffo 12 though, so not the fastest......

apparently froggatt's was 15 seconds.....but the distinguishing factor is that is was on his debut, so deffo the fastest goal in a career at Vale....looks like Bogie's has the fastest ever in a game though.....am I sad or what?????
