Tricell shares?

Recommended Posts

A question that arose from another thread.

When the Tricell fiasco came to an end.Tricell ended up giving some share's to Vale in payment. There was a condition that the shares could not be cashed in until after a set period of time / certain date.

So anyone know, remember what happened to these share's?

Do they still exist at Vale or have they been cashed in?

The agreement was that the shares could not be sold until they had reached a set price on the NYSE, and to my knowledge the shares are still at VP [unless Deakin has sold them like everthing else]I will have to go back and look at the minutes.

It may also be that the set price was reached and they were cashed in.

I think there was a mention of Tricell shares a while ago but cant find it.

I have not seen any Tricell shares in any share register, unless of course there is a separate register we don't about?

What register. Vales register should hold the details of shareholders in V2001 not what shares the club hold in other companies.

There is no legal requirement to keep a register of shares you own , unless it would be good practice because there are so many different ones.

What should be the case is that investments owned should be included in the Balance Sheet as a separate class of assets, at historical cost less any provision for diminution in value.
