Blue Sky - where from?

Alan Baker

Recommended Posts

Everyone and anyone, including directors, etc is classed as an employee of the organisation, but don't try to draw any kind of conspiracy theory from this. Plenty of people moev jobs from one company and because they are specialist in that field, end up working for either a competitor or partner company in the same field!

I didd the same myself years ago. I ran my own IT consultancy company that operated as supplier and competitor in the UK for Borland products, but eventually sold up and went to work for Borland fulltime. Nowt dodgy about it!

No conspiracy, apologies I thought it was a genuine question. The conspiracy seems to be in the part of the deal that no-one wants to talk about.

No apology necessary, just trying to stress that in all of my enquiries so far, whcih are obviously not as extensive as a full and legal due diligence, I have yet to find anything suspicious about any named company.

So far, all above board!

sv, you seem to be well versed on the blue sky info front. as these simple questions were not answered by the board could you shed any light on this.

company turnover .

number of employees.

examples of previous projects completed .

have blue sky worked on any level in the uk previously.

not highly contentious questions but i would love some light to be shed on them ? from someone.

I don't think that conspiracy is the right word - it just propogates all of those who see anyone that doubts the deal/Board as a load of agitators.

I just don't see how a company/ies in the US would be all that bothered about the Vale but obviously they are and we will begin to see that when the Lorne St work starts in the next few weeks and when Hank J visits in October.

Hank started one of the biggest artificial turf companies in the US, sold it on and quit his advisory post a few years later. Holds the patents, wants to spread the good word of artificial pitches to the rest of the world. Needs a show case, Chatterly Whitfield.. why not? Middle of England, making good use of brownfield land, why not. Of course there is something in it for Blue Sky, publicity, show facility. So what? If they were investing in the Vale and expecting nothing back in return I'd be more worried. Lloyd and Deakin worry me more than Hank and BSI.

The big question everybody seems to be asking seems to be this: What are Blue Sky getting out of this?

Quite simple really, A European show site for all of their goods and facilities that they can sell throughout the whole of Europe. They need somewhere to take prospective clients to show them the quality of their wares in order to sell multi-million pound deals. £5m donated to Port Vale for them to run the show site as a going concern could reap them millions in European sales!

Isn't that what I said? It's a bit odd on here when you are supposed to argue with people who you agree with. And this is not the first time either, check back.

I realise that BSI and Ameriturf are not related and given that Mike Lloyd knew nothing of the latter at the BGWMC meeting, then does anyone know how he managed to get the BSI deal in?

Genuine question before anyone starts

What exactly is your point ?

I know they might not know the area too well but Fegg Hayes does seem an odd choice to show Europe their product! :D

for 5 million quid (never mind 8m!) they could buy a lovely big plot of land in a decent area just outside London and build their pitches on it then show anyone they want who could fly into heathrow/gatwick/stanstead and also rent it to local lower league clubs and posh schools etc

a european show site on a dissused colliery sports ground on the edge of a council estate in Stoke on Trent at least 45 mins from the nearest airport!!! come on......

They'd probably have to spend £5million of their own money to do it there. :)
