Ray Parlour on Vale vs Arsenal tie

When Corden banged the equaliser in me and my son jumped up in ecstasy only for the thermos flask in my pocket to jump out, roll down the steps onto the walkway at the bottom of the Railway Paddock. Had to find it when it settled down a bit....smashed to fook....but a small price to pay having to explain to the ex missus how I had broken our only flask!

Wayne Corden's best performance in a Vale shirt buy a mile.

Also, that Dennis Bergkamp goal is arguably the best I've ever seen at Vale Park. Such an incredible player.

I'd say Betgkamp is probably the best player I've ever seen at Vale Park. After Aspo obviously

Mussy had two great games against Arsenal and even Seaman praised him and it did take a special finish from Bergkamp to beat him. Arsenal players thought they'd won it but when we equalised all their heads dropped in disbelief.

Marvellous times.

I might be wrong but I think only West Ham and Port Vale were the only two teams not to lose against Arsenal over 90mins in all competitions.

Terrific game and agree that the Bergkamp goal the finest.

Also had one of the greatest non-goals too when a shot hit the post rolled across the goal line and then out for a goal kick.

Remember having to queue across the football pitches at the back of the Bycars to get in. What a Vale team, we lost but what a performance . Pack the park, it is possible but needs something decent to watch on the pitch. Remember the good natured banter we had with Seaman who was England goalie at the time and a top bloke. Big respect to him for the credit he gave to Mussey a fellow goalie after the game.

Also the laughter that went around Vale park when the attendance was announced. The Arsenal fans would not have got that but there were way more in than what was officially announced. Bill Bells biscuit tin must have been overflowing.
