What a performance from him in last night's darts final..that run of legs (won 15 of 17 or something like that) was amazing.

 

I consider darts to be a sport so he's right up there with the likes of Bolt in terms of how dominant he is..he does not just win tournaments he demolishes the best opposition.

 

Got to be the best ever and by some distance.

In terms of titles and tournament wins I agree (although that may be just a matter of time) but I don't think Phil has ever scored and finished as well as MVG has this past 12 months...the standard he reached last night was way beyond anything else I have ever seen.

That said the Power needs to focus on his own game rather than blathering on about others.

Actually he isn't. And it pains me to say it but he is better than when Taylor was in his prime.

Taylor is a legend of the game. I've never been a hater when a lot of locals were. What he did year on year was a fantastic achievement. He took the game to the next level.

However in Taylors prime of winning all titles that are on offer, a 100+ average was phenomenal as it was only him doing it. Nobody got near him because the others were so far behind him.

MVG is breaking all records.

During Taylor's peak he never came across players doing a 106 average against him. If he had in the late 90s he wouldn't have won as many titles. Taylor couldn't consistently hit 106 averages.

Now MVG averages that every tournament and the standard of the opposition is something else as well.

He is winning everything despite the opposition throwing some of the best darts we have ever seen!

I'll always be a Taylor fan and nobody can take away his titles but right now and for the last two years MVG has played the best darts the world has ever seen and he's getting better.

Anderson is the closest opponent and he swept him away despite Anderson hitting an average I think is the highest losing average in a world final.

Wright has stepped his game up. Barney hit a phenomenal average and got stuffed!

He is simply unplayable.

If he was winning tournaments and beating players with averages in the 90s I'd say he still has a lot to prove but we have never seen the like.

Whether he can do it year on year, I very much doubt because of the quality of opponent but I wouldn't put it past him.

Taylor is a legend but MVG has just done a year that this day in age is absolutely astounding.
