Vale Independent Supporters Association. Does anyone remember it?

 

It seems odd that we were protesting back in the late 90's, when we were so successful, and Bill Bell was actually better than we thought. Around the time the Old Brit got build, me and a few folks made our presence felt, met with councillors, got ejected from Elm Park because we thought things needed to change (I was 11 at the time).

 

Maybe something similar needs to happen again. We met in the Leopard's back room, with 200-300 people who cared. Nigel Spinks was there, every week. I'm desperately frightened that Norman has replaced his scatty 'Man-of-the-people' head with a more business orientated one. More business focussed than he's been before.

 

To me, Wildes was the man worth following. He knew how to rally troops. Norman has only proved that he an lose money, and that he has the ego that will try to recoup it.

 

Liverpool's situation, although magnified by an enormous following, sets a president. We can do something about this. We are Port Vale, and we can make some f@#king noise. We always used to.

I seem to remember going to a meeting in a pub and the only people I can remember being there were Glen Oliver, Peter Jackson, Kirsty Rawlings, possibly Gary Benson and a couple of others. I'm not sure if this was Visa or the early days of Valiant 2001. It might just have been what they used to call an IBPU.

What exactly do you want Vale fans to do?

 

I'm not criticizing, I'm interested in what you have to say. I too don't trust our chairman currently that much, & I'm hoping he does sell up and leave us, as I feel a lot have lost any confidence left in him now with his constant rants at us, & don't feel he has anything positive left to offer the club, he is just going to let us drift whilst insulting & putting us down.

 

However, if you're referring to some sort of direct action, I'm a little confused. Is it not better to wait & see what is said at this forum, & get some light shed on the clubs position before getting too involved?

 

I'm not saying leave it until it is too late, but I definitely think we should give it a little time & just try to find out more about what is going on.
