My God - if ever there was a face that fracked a thousand ships it's this bag that has just insulted an entire gender by saying that 'women don't understand fracking' and they are 'too emotional'.

 

She's just been called ignorant to her face on Channel 4 by a normal person, but at least she wont need to spend much on costume and makup a week on Saturday.

What have her looks got to do with it? I doubt you'd be commenting on appearance if it were a man featured in the article...bit of a tangent there

 

She does give an explanation for her stance..the fewer women study science when younger. I don't know the reason why significantly more women than men appear to be against fracking..would be interested in hearing more theories on that

The first thing to consider is whether the statistic of more women being against fracking is reliable. I doubt it, these things are polled in certain ways and the results often tainted.

There is a bias that it is 'more manly' to be against anything that might be considered 'nanny state' which certain media outlets promote with great zeal and if there is any disparity between man and women on this subject, then that might account for it.

The main point is the inference that women don't understand 'scientific' things as well as men, that anything technical is beyond them and this is dross and stupid prejudice, which is why I allowed myself the same luxury on a lesser scale by judging her appearance, which doesn't matter but let's say it suits her views and absurd prejudices.

I'd love to see Germaine Greer smack her right in the face.

 

Incidentally, when this thread had no replies after a day or so, I bet someone I know £10 that it would get a reply and that the first reply would come from yourself, so thanks for that.

Must be hard to remember anything after you and JA had been posting such witty repartee and didactic prose on the Jeremy Corbyn thread for 16 hours a day for the last 6 weeks.:)
