After trudging away from Chesterfield with a right cob on, me and me father in law raised the question - when did we last see Vale win away?

Later, over several pints we identified the last Vale away win we saw was - Walsall Nov 2013.

Inbetween that we have be to Preston, Wolves, Cov, Bristol C, Peterborough, Crewe, Fleetwood, Swindon and Chesterfield.

Are we the unluckiest away supporters ever? Can anyone beat our unlucky run?

PS - our next away games are Walsall and Notts C....

Not sure about you being the unluckiest supporters - I went to 7 away games during our promotion season when we only lost 5 away games (league and cup) all season but won 13 if you include Walsall in the Paint Pot. In those 7 games, I witnessed 4 of those 5 defeats (Accrington, Northampton, Sheff Utd and Oxford) and the other three games were all draws (Cheltenham, Rochdale and Wycombe). Last season I decided to only go to 3 games but at least we won 2 at Crewe and Walsall (the last away win I saw), the other game being at Notts County when we lost after being 2-0 up. Only been to one this season (Crewe) so not going away again until Coventry.

The only aways I've missed this season are Colchester, Gills and Crawley. Seven chuffin' points. So don't expect anything from Oakwell this Saturday (I'll be there) but bank on an unexpected result at Ashton Gate next week (I won't).

Our (lack of) away form plus near total inability to keep clean sheets will cost us any chance of the play-offs.

What's a clean sheet ???????????????????????????????

My record this year is MKD - loss, Chesterfield- loss, Preston- Loss. Going satdy, but would settle for a draw.

Last season it was a loss at Oldham - missed pen etc. The others have faded in memory. Enjoyed the pie and peas and mild at the pub. Glad we no longer play Accrington.

I think my last away win must have been Morecambe with a late Boom Boom goal.

Does Newcastle Town count?

Ah yes. It was Rotherham away, Boxing Day in our promotion season.

So, after Saturday, I'll be more than a couple hundred of quid down this season, with nothing to show for it.
