If I was drawing up a checklist of requirements for an owner of Port Vale, there is no doubt that Mr Chaudry would not tick all the boxes. He would tick a fair number though, which is considerably more than the current incumbents.

I was talking recently to an ex-director. He told me that after spending time working with the current Board, there is no way on earth he would ever wish to do business with any of them.

And if I hear anyone else tell me that Mo intends to build houses on Vale Park, believe me, I'll kill somebody!!

I have it on the highest authority that plans are already drawn up and in the planning office. ;)

I admit I'm deeply suspicious of anyone who wants to try and make money via football club ownership, particularly someone who has no particular interest in football, so let's play devil's advocate.

Has Mo issued any kind of business plan (or perhaps intimated what this might be) with regard to year-on-year investment, estimated club debt, as we plough on towards his dream of seeing us in the Championship? Ballpark figures?

I think our natural level is 3rd tier. Anything above that for a club like ours requires disproportionate amounts of cash to prop us up. Mo won't want to do that, and why should he, but what financial state do we expect to be in by the stage Mo decides to get out?

Football clubs don't normally make money. They haemorrhage it. How much money would be needed to get us into the 2nd tier in five years? Is Mo really going to pump that much in? Can he generate income for the club in other ways? What ways? What happens if he finds he cannot make money, and buyers are thin on the ground?

Out of curiosity, did you back V2001 at the time? Wondering, but what if they fail? Thinking they could be a success? Happy with the possibility of treading water with lead shoes?

My only concern at that time was retaining football at Vale Park and I think V2001 were guaranteed to do that, whereas there was always a doubt over the others, including Mo. So yes I supported their bid. However I hoped that we would not continue to free fall from that point onwards which we obviously have done.

Did you support Mo's original bid?

I had neither concern or optimism. I was only young and used to spend most of my internet time winding up the V2001 folk (especially Glenn) with my pro Bell posts over on PVO haha. === :ninja:

Not forgetting the miss-selling of mortgages and backdating of cover notes by the current incumbents.

Which is the least of their previous misdemeanours :D

alledgedly of course!

I know a number of business people who previously did business with them, and lucrative business at that, who will no longer deal with them. At least one posts on here!

I heard last night he wants to knock Vale Park down and not only build houses but also a new waterworld and then knock down festival park one and sell the plot for millions.

I have it on good authorty that you are a sh**stirrer and will soon be getting a thick ear of Jean jackson!!

Why do any rich people buy football clubs then? End of conversation really

As for Mo of course he has no business plan, he is a dumbass bloke with a few buy to lets who doesn't have a clue about business!!!

Am I being cynical or did we have the same thoughts when Billy Bell was Chairman and we had the best period of success in our history?

Just a thought...
