442 or 433/451? Potential to do both with the players involved. Birchall could sit with O'Connor and Lines in front of him, and Marshall and Willo either side of Pope. Or Birchall wide and Willo alongside Pope, which I think is more likely.

Marshall seemed to have a free role against Hartlepool which caused them loads of problems, particularly with dicko on the overlap. I can see it being a kind of 433 formation with birchy on the right of the midfield 3 and marshall on the left of the front 3, drifting about and dropping in behind the from 2

He was never going to drop Williamson off the back of a hat-trick, and rightly so.

 

Would be very happy with a hard earned point today against a decent side.

Yes - until Moore comes back into the equation, I would give Marshall a free role - makes it more difficult to mark him, and we can press harder against their weaker flank. If he drags defenders out of position it gives plenty of scope for others to take up good spaces!
