Odd that she got away with it whilst he didn't. I would have thought it would be all or nowt.

The argument is she didn't know,he was in charge and even hid how he got info form here. Indeed certain key activities were proven to have happened when she was not even in the country. The case against her was not proven

I don't know if she is guilty or not but it's great that she hasn't been convicted purely by association with the guilty man nor purely on suspicion or just cos of the position that she held at the time

Yes..no price limit should ever be put on justice

Would you appreciate a case where you were the victim being dropped cos of the cost?

It's nice if you've got the money Johnny, didn't Rupert Murdoch pay the £16m defence costs for Rebekka Brooks?

Her professional position or sexual position with the guilty man? ;)

Was it worth it,the seven month trial cost the taxpayer £35m and the top barristers were on as much as £20,000 a day.

This is an early trial in the process of sorting out press misconduct and phone hacking. There are many more prosecutions to come and all the cost involved. Deterrence and prevention are always better than cure not least because cure is expensive. So the new press regulatory arrangements should be well designed and implemented so the same problems don't re-occur once all this has left peoples' consciousness.

As the victim you have no costs

Ok,perhaps not but there will be a legal bill coming through the post, who will pay the defendants' legal bills is unclear, although British media have reported that Murdoch's News Corp will pick up the tab for Brooks and most of the others.

The improtant thing though is justice for the victims

Having said that it's terrible that a defendant found not guilty can still be left with a hefty legal bill..ruined when you haven't done anything. Probably the state should pick up the bill for a failed prosecution

Deputy speaker Nigel Evans is the perfect example of this,it cost him around £200,000 to prove his innocence.
