Not sure why so many negative comments. I'm 90% certain he played in a front 3 against us for Macc in an away game when we won 3 - 0. There front 3 looked pretty effective until we scored a second quite late in the 2cd half, but until then I felt Macc were good for at least a point and he caused us quite a lot of problems. On the day I was sure they created more chances - but I think Richards (pretty sure he scored) and Rigg (?) took our chances and we ended with a comfortable win. I thought he looked potentially a decent player.

After watching a few videos he can do something that we sorely miss right now, CROSS the ball. Feed the pope and.....

He looks like a journeyman player at league 2 level who at 26 might be ready for a stint in league 1. He also looks likely fit our budget needs. If he can be reliable in the team - tackle, not give the ball away, reasonable pace and must as a wide player with Pope in the middle be able to cross, then he could be a good squad addition and has the opportunity to press for a consistent first team place. Have to trust the manager and staff.

Most of the criticism of Junior from the Mansfield press was his inability to cross and consistency his main strength was pace - read Mohamed?

 

Micky and Page will have to work hard on ensuring his first priority is to get balls in to the box. Pope thrives on quick balls in to the box but especially when they come from the left side.

 

Let's hope for the best.
