I'm with NPower and to be honest they've been fine

Try leaving them and getting back what you're owed.

4 months we've been waiting with no resolution in site. Meanwhile they've hiked their prices and their shareholders are laughing all the way to the bank.

Used NPOWER where I used to live and they were no problem even when I moved and wanted money back

With EDF now and they've been really good..even when they grossly underestimated our usage in our first year here they were very good in helping us with a repayment plan and have been very good in liaising with Western Power over some recent problems with the supply

However, that does not mean that I am happy with how they raise cash for "infrastructrure work"..it's outrageous that they don't go to new/existing shareholders for money. I would happily support/participate in a campaign to get oodles of customers to all swicth 'at once', then switch back again etc etc to teach them a lesson.

I also don't see why the market isn't opened up to non-UK suppliers...I know that the UK suppliers are largely owned by non-Uk companies but they don't charge the rates for energy that they charge elsewhere in Europe. We have pipes and cables crossing the channel so why not competition with the rest of Europe?

My duel fuel bill through British Gas for the last year was £1142 and have switched to First Utility who allege that for the same usage will be £960 for the next year.Time will tell........

Anyone else on here using First Utility?

I was thinking of switching to them but their Customer Service reviews are appalling.

I believe they like to cut costs by doing pretty much everything online. So chances are they probably have no one manning the phones if you need that personal touch of customer service. To me I generally have no desire or need to speak with my gas and electric supplier and in all likelihood if I did I`m more likely to call the fire brigade!

It`s all down to the cheapest deal you can get really and if they do start arsing you about,it`s dead easy to cancel a direct debit.

Consumer power!

I moved from BG to NPower about 18 months ago on a partial renewable energy contract. Within 3 months they's deleted that particular type of contract and automatically moved me to a standard tariff contract. I should have moved then but for my sins I didn't.

This news has spurred me on to move now, just signed up to Good Energy. I may be paying a touch more but I can certainly sleep a lot happier.
