sometimes you have to take a step back in order to take two or three forward!

Sometimes when you think we've taken a step forward we take 3 back.

Think they are right tho.

It affected everyone, board, fans, stewards, police, manager so why not the players. Some staff were abused just as a way of trying to get at the board. Exodus, Gannon being the main ones but even the silly chanting / "support" of Gary Roberts when he deserved to be on the bench would have affected him and others. Lets face it he aint done much since, neither have some of the others. It would only be stupid and a lie if any of them said it didnt affect / pressure them in some way.

You have written some duff comments on here Princey but this latest effort is a 'doozler'. How can fans chanting in support upset players. Princey you are a real silly boy:ohmy:

In my opinion football people are only interested in what goes in their pocket, nothing more nothing less, only one protest took place during the game and they won.... the biggest protest took place outside the ground and they won.

This business of using the protests as an excuse is pathetic,it covers up for gutless spineless performances the team provided and it is another simplistic attempt by pro boarders to give Virus 2001 a way out ===

Princey and WV read this well as it's bang on the money. For me players blamed the protests as a get out . Just like Exodus Geogahagan used the race card.Sorry Ex you were abused (though it's wrong) for being 'Manager's pet' and very poor.

Lincoln away after watching that game I knew we were not good enough I've been proud to sit among brilliant supporters at home and away even the B&G lads our away support has been in a different class to other teams we all wanted the same thing to win

So there is no chance can any player blame the protests that I clearly did not support they only have to look in the mirror

Port vale should be promoted now and the people to blame are on the pitch not in the stands

Well it wouldnt sit too well with players who believe they have taken Roberts' place on merit. And it can be a tad embarrasing for the lad if he doesnt think he deserves to play, whether it be for on field efforts or any off field shenanigans..

Thus disturbing the psychological side of certain individuals in the team which needs to be bob on for them to do there best. And as we have seen this has not been the case during recent months...

No discipline.

No respect for themselves, the fans, the staff.

We watched them training on a few occasions, to much p11ssing about hardly any application.

To much of an in Club drink culture.

So blame yourselves lads. This Club needs re-vamping from top to bottom its run like a Sunday League Club. It needs Mo and his team or similar to turn it around.

Bratt and his scrotes are out of their depth.

Well put!The players can count themselves lucky that fans stood by them throughout protests and look how they are now repaying us! DESERTING US FOR A RIVAL CLUB-SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!!

If the players think that the protests "might" have affected them, then basically the players saying this should not be allowed to play in any away games next seasons just in case the home support of their team "effects" the way these players play

Amazing isnt it how we jump on anyone that does not support the B&G. He says it might have had an effect and it might. Some people on here were saying that they did not want promotion as this would keep the board in so in a round about way if the board does go because they did not get promotion and the money that goes with that, then the B&G would have succeeded even if it meant upseting players and promotion

Because most fans can see it's an excuse. Not once have the fans protested against the players, so why should it upset them?

The main reason we did not go up is the board replaced Adams with Gannon, which is like replacing chalk with cheese. The players have to take a long hard look at themselves and question why they let their standards drop so much. They should not be asking questions of fans who were always behind them.

Let's not put too much importance on what these players say. It means nothing. These losers will be long gone when we are all still here supporting the team.

I think the fans backed the team tremendously this year and were right behind the players (except Ex) when it was all going wrong under Gannon.

The players got what they wanted in getting Gannon sacked, but once he'd gone they didn't deliver what they said they would do. The majority of games under Grew were played by a bunch of players who couldn't care less. I gave them my 100% support throughout all the turmoil, but these guys let us down badly and the failure during the final games was their fault and their fault only. They bottled it!

Fans protests, a poor board, the club in disarray and financial difficulty cannot be used as an excuse for their abject failure to beat some of the dross teams we have come up against.

The players being unprofessional affected the team more than the fans.

Are they not professional enough or intellegent enough to realise they were a better unit when fit. So can they not keep their own fitness levels up or do they need to be told everything.

Are they not professional enough or intellegent enough to realise pratting around in training and going on a bender during the week will effect their play.

Even with MA here they proved they couldn't cope with pressure. Top of the league - crap performance Chesterfield players obviously got confidence from being top of the league. Our performances against poor sides - except Stockport away - were woeful.
