The man seemed to put an effort in some years ago to engage the fans and be one of them what with joining them at matches, drinking with them etc and then it all just seemed to fall apart what with the Cockney mafia malarkey. If he could get it right and spend money more wisely Newcastle really should be up there in the top 6 and nudging the top 4

I was up there in May and was struck by how close to the city centre the stadium is and by the sheer number of blokes walking around wearing the shirt on what was not a match day

 

Their attendances did fall away when they were relagated a few years back but I agree that if they could be right up there in the PL they'd sell out whatever size stadium they decided to build

Whilst I'm no fan of Ashley, Harper is a very lucky man. Employed by Newcastle for 20 years he made a grand total of 157 (yes 157) appearances at an average of less than 8 a year. 45 of those were in 1 season as well so all I can say is he must be a ****** good golfer with all that free time on his hands. He should keep schtum and count his "earnings" over the years if you ask me, he's bled Newcastle dry it could be argued.......
