It seems like you have a look on this forum from time to time. All the best at the Vale and I'm looking optimistically towards next season, thanks for your part in that. On the subject of the new premium rate phone number for the ticket office; I was a bit shocked when it appeared on my bill for what amounts to the cost of a match ticket. For my part, it may be the difference between getting a ticket or not at some point in the future and I'd urge you to reconsider whether having it as a premium rate number will be of net financial benefit to the club.

I ring up main reception on the 01782 number and ask to be put through.

I think was a Paul Wildes measure. It just doesn't feel "Vale" to have something so obviously designed to make money out of fans. I call these premium numbers as a last resort, I can't stand them! They are a real disincentive to call any company who uses them.

It is not like a help line where you are getting a service, but a purchasing point where the selling costs are included in the price.

Agreed, I know that Smurf wishes to 'make money' out of the club and I don't blame him on iota for it. But it's one thing to make money and quite another to 'fleece' the fans.....in my opinion of course.

I think it is something to do with the fact that they now have the IVR phone system in place where you press 1 for this and 2 for that, that's why its an 0871 number. But I am sure that they could change it to an O845 number that would be better

I fish for Mekong catfish and Siamese carp.... I think the phone number is a good thing and Im impressed.... I dont understand other peoples negativity towards the idea.... no one is hurling abuse and no one is wandering away from the topic... except maybe you but I havent read all the posts.... if we want decent players we have to pay for them... this adds a little to the pot... whats negative about that?
