  1. One day I’d love to see Shorrock played as an out and out winger. When he drives at the defender he looks dangerous.
  2. Would have preferred Garrity to have a go himself than square it. Ball did seem to just bobble in front of Massey in fairness to him.
  3. Nearly, great pass by Loft just didn’t fall right for Massey.
  4. Need more on set pieces than we’ve shown on the two corners we’ve had so far. Wigan look tidy when they’re passing it around. We’re doing ok but not really threatened yet.
  5. Plymouth sacked Ian Foster. If he’d never been appointed it’s quite probable we’d have had Alfie for the whole season (who Plymouth fans really are not keen on especially after his red card today).
  6. Let's hope so Guppy All we can do mate, can’t change today now. If it’s not enough then so be it but it’s the only way we can get ourselves out of it.
  7. It’s a one game season mentality. Throw this game away now. Couple of corrections for DM to think about on the first goal for them but other than that move on to Wigan now. Win that and it’s a different conversation again.
  8. Not bothered about the second goal. Caught on the counter chasing the game it’s the chance you take. First goal is a different story. As it happens Cheltenham losing late on means it could be worse. We still have a chance but really need to go balls to the wall against Wigan now. Got to second the comments about the away atmosphere, that was really bad compared to Burton.
  9. The games still there for us. Need to be a bit more incisive. There will be openings for us second half just need to be ready for them. Disappointing goal to concede there, came from pretty much nowhere. Guess we will find out now how this team reacts to behind behind.
  10. Going for 1-0 also but don’t think Planty has scored yet this season. I think he’s due one today.
  11. Fair enough lineup, what I expected. Come on Vale!!!
  12. A concept Luke Rodgers used to struggle with his entire career in fairness.
  13. Way before I recall Fulham had looked at Joe Anyon even taking him on trial iirc. If clubs are willing to offer decent money for these players we simply have to take it, you just never know how these players will turn out. Even those touted as wonder kids from an early age like Freddy Adu back in the day there’s no guarantee they make it.
  14. He did that day but I think Arblaster is just an outlier in terms of loans for us. Caught a bit of his game v Fulham the other day and he looked a good premier league footballer. Devine by comparison on the other hand when he first got here not to say he was bad but I certainly didn’t see generational talent like Tottenham fans said. It took time to get going and then he was good (incidentally Plymouth fans are far from sold on him). We’ll never know now unfortunately with Gore if he’d have done similar.
  15. The injury fair enough but are you seriously judging a players ability off approx 50 minutes of action when he’d barely trained with the squad and was thrown in alongside Weir against the best in the league? Thats a little unreasonable. It was just a hypothetical anyway as it was the first name that came to mind, could be anyone else they might offer first dibs on.
  16. Just been to purchase one and that kiosk outside the away end is still there for anyone paying on the day. Fourth time coming here. Best one was the first time under Askey when we beat them 2-1 with 10 men. Was a David Worrall masterclass that day and think Pope hit his 100th Vale goal to win it. Similar result minus the red card will do me just fine.
  17. It’s simply not realistic for us to take that gamble. Clubs like them can afford to give up decent sums on potential and who knows how Baylee ultimately turns out as a player. Could injury derail him or whatever? It’s not a position we are in. Looking at the article from Nixon United are keen to make it happen as I daresay the likes of Arsenal will no doubt start looking too so am pretty certain any deal would be beneficial to us too. Maybe they throw in a full season of Dan Gore on loan and see what he can really do as well to sweeten it for us.
  18. Yep, I’m doing that tomorrow. There’s a kiosk just outside the away end you can get them from.
  19. Ideally the best club for him develop at would be a Brighton or Brentford. They have a great track record at developing talent and that would then bring in a good chance of the big sell on. It is a legitimate concern about going to Man Utd but then it’s a chance to maybe one day play for one of if not the biggest clubs in the world.
  20. Expect this will be a sterner challenge for us. Northampton a decent side and have a manager I really rate in Jon Brady. Surprised his name never gets linked when vacancies higher up become open to be honest. We seem to be operating more as a unit now both defensively and going forward so hopefully can carry that into this one. Draw wouldn’t be the end of the world but no reason we can’t push for all three points.
  21. Tried to avoid any of the away commentary since the lockdown season and we went to Tranmere with two of the most biased and parochial individuals I’ve ever had the misfortune to listen to. From that point on where possible have chosen to switch to the Vale one when watching on iFollow. Phil isn’t Barry Davies or John Motson but then I don’t expect him to be.
  22. Alan Nixon also reporting the same thing. Apparently Jim Ratcliffe wants United to be at the forefront in snapping up any top young domestic talent so seems they are willing to do whatever it takes. Just as well we got Baylee on that 2 year pro deal now.
  23. The obvious one would be Dipepa being watched by higher up clubs but I’d be surprised if he hadn’t been. Guess the other ones potentially are either thee future with the DOF position or maybe depending on Dan Gores injury status if he has gone back to Utd. Just for the summer please nobody suggest Hudlin after watching him last weekend at Burton. And if we are linked then the recruitment team to be fired on the spot.
  24. The next stage in his development now will be as he keeps performing like this sooner than later opposition teams at this level are going to start marking him out for special treatment.. If he can overcome that then that is a huge plus for him.
