  1. Personally would like to see him move in the summer. Would become a target for the “ physical” centre halves in the bottom two divisions.
  2. Overlap of jobs. If the DoF sorts a player he likes and tells the manager it’s him or nothing what happens?. Suspect Andy Crosby was given that choice several times.
  3. Guess who’s back, back again. in the words of Eminem. Really pleased mate, your optimism has been missed.
  4. Brian Horton was a good Vale manager. Just off to get my tin hat ready for those that think differently.
  5. But he can defend. Isn’t that the job description of a right back?. ( Not a wing back that we don’t need two off.).

    Why???

Just had a look on the sports salary site. Colchester have a player on £10,000 a week and I now know why Ellis Harrison left. Not attempting to justify Uche,s money, but fear for football at our level in the long term. It is unsustainable.

    Why???

Seven months contract = £120, 000. IF he had scored goals that had kept Vale in this division money well spent. Who could foresee his series injury.?

    Why???

Figures looked pretty accurate to me. Uche has a short contract, and if he had kept us up would have been money well spent. Ojo was a marquee signing, setting the stall out. Smudgers low wage reflects he has come through the youth system. During my working life I only got a decent rise by changing companies. Last season Derby had TEN players on £9000 a week!! O
  9. Well, that’s reduced the forum by 95%!!
  10. Of course it is the back room staffs fault. They are the ones that identified Grant, Loft, Williams ,Gore etc. as an improvement on the likes of Worrall, Pett, Benning etc. Rank incompetence.
  11. Didn’t pick up on that☺️
  12. Not how it works now. They all wait to the last possible minute to get a better deal from somewhere else.
  13. No!!!. People have been great in the railway this season😃
  14. No need for that. We need all the fans, good and bad.
  15. No he wasn’t. Same as Nathan Smith he needed a good left sided centre half to cover when he went forward ie. Connor Hall.
  16. Just a thought, no doubt to be shot down. Would try Smith at right back and Clark at left. Know Smithy would not give any attacking options but he would stop crosses from that side. Clark would be the going forward option.
  17. If I was Carol I would be looking for a way out. Thankless task owning the Vale, dominated by fans telling you to spend more and more. A lot of vitriol every day and very little praise. I would cut my losses, take £5 mill if I could and head off to Spain and enjoy each day.
  18. Rudge managed to sell the club to players such as Foyle, McCarthy, Guppy, Ainsworth etc. For reasons I don’t know we can’t do it anymore. Ps. I agree with previous poster that we need 7,000 more like you. Sadly I am not, too many miserable seasons.
  19. Up there with Derby and Bolton? Afraid not. They can afford to pay many players £9000 a week, which attracts better players. We are not fishing in the same pond. May get lucky with one or two bad boys ( such as Lee Mills, Tom Pope and Lee Hughes) but these are few and far between. They usually are more like Ricky Miller and Matty Taylor. Oh for a “Lazy” striker like Leon Constantine.
  20. Very true. Just a job to most of them. Sell themselves to the highest bidder. Think we all do that. Have no problem with Ellis Harrison, but he is a prime example. Passionate supporters like DI can’t see this, making comments like die for the shirt. I myself have seen many relegations, difference with this one is the internet. Never get to euphoric after Mansfield or too down after Canvey Island. Not a big difference to me if we play Cambridge or Colchester. Will still go if we finish up in the National League. Would look forward then to games against for example Chesterfield and Oldham. No second clubs for me. Port Vale for Life.
  21. Nearly stood in for you the other day😄. Another doom and gloom sayer crying out for a “ That’s the Spirit”. Well done fella, agree with you every time 👍
  22. It’s what you call an insurance policy. If the Vale go down at least you have got a personal result. Am sure the guy would/will be happy to lose his money.
  23. Sorry to disappoint you, but I doubt the money from Burnley will pay the sick/injured players for one week.
  24. Don’t expect anything to change. Very difficult to sell Burslem/ Stoke to people from outside our area as it is with all this vitriol. I became a Vale fan fifty years ago because of the friendly / black humour of the supporters. Seems to be long gone now in most cases.
