  1. My journey to apathy from the start of the season to now: 1. Expecting to win each game 2. Expecting to win the odd game 3. Hopeful of a win 4. Expecting to lose but expecting to score 5. Expecting to lose but expecting to get some shots on target 6. Expecting to lose and expecting that we don't have a shot on target. = not @rs£d
  2. If he wanted to play for the shirt, I would keep Funso as well as maybe Chissy. I reckon those 3 (including Garrity) are better than our promotion winning midfield a couple of years ago. It's the defence that really needs sorting for me! Shocking. Players who were in the promotion side have gone down hill. Also, might be a good idea to sign some strikers? Might be worth a thought? For league 2, I would keep Wilson.
  3. Am hoping that we here Jones is ill or injured because, even though the team generally were shocking, Jones was not better than one of those 'dome cones' the players used during the warm up. Why did we sign Lowe and release Pett?
  4. Ripley Mitch. Smith. Kasper. Jones Ojo. Sang Massey. Garrity. Mighten Wilson 3-1 Oxford Oxford 1-0 inside 10 minutes
  5. As the season seems to be done, just to pass the time, was thinking about some of the players we've (Flitcroft) signed over the past 2/3 years AND who could/would have played in a 4231 system tomorrow/now. Just for fun (or maybe add to our depression). What about?: Ripley Gibbo. Smith Hall. Mitch Ojo Pett Garrity Massey Wilson Politic Better than what we have????
  6. He doesn't watch us every week. If he did, he'd soon change his mind.
  7. And with having the same squad next season, there's no light at the end of the tunnel.
  8. Out of all the sides i've seen this season, Leyton Orient have surprised me the most because of good they were. Especially for a side just promoted. Well organised, well drilled, fast passing, know what each others jobs are, press quickly. Really impressed with them. We're going to get tatered!
  9. Wouldn't be surprised if Loft leaves before the end of the season.
  10. Will the budget be less, same or more next season? Less revenue from attendance but will Carol put more into the team budget from selling Synectics? Of course, most players we are stuck with BUT surely some of those contracts will be terminated. If there were no restrictions, and bearing in mind we will be in a lower division, I would keep: Ripley, Clarke, Yak (squad), Ojo, Garrity, Chissy, Wilson, Plant (squad), Sang (midfield only - squad) Personally, I feel that are down. Therefore, is it time DM started to make a decision on what he sees as the 'identity' of the club going forward and using the remaining games playing that way?
  11. Team Ripley Mitch. Kasper. Yak. Jones Ojo (hope he's reclaimed his teddies from out of the pram) Garrity Chissy Massey. Loft. Wilson Expect: fight, we take game to Shrews and where possible players playing in their natural position.
  12. And that's my point - we've not upgraded.
  13. Been numerous debacles assembling this squad. Was thinking about the decision to move Conlon on. By no means suggesting he was the answer. However, if and when he played, he played with professionalism and pride. Conlon was no way as good as Devine and Blaster. However, they both left in January and we bring in Weir, Gore (loans) and we obviously have Lowe on the books. Lowe seems likely to play in that defensive midfielder role. Have we upgraded on Conlon with these three? Not just in terms of quality but effort, resilience? May be looking at this through 'rose tinted specs' BUT I genuinely don't feel Weir and Lowe are any better than Conlon and Gore's done a disappearing act. Just highlighting another recruitment failure IMO.
  14. I think we are down. Players not good enough. No balance to the side and no identity. Some players have thrown the towel in. I'm hoping we see quite a bit of 'Contract Terminated by Mutual Consent' going on in the summer so we can try and recruit players that are decent and actually fit into what we will be trying to do 'football wise'.
  15. Think all of the Flitcroft out is in vain unless one person changes her mind. We can quote all of the 'spin', make comments about players/systems. No need. The league table tell us all we need to know. Lets say we survive the drop. We've got most of this team again next season. Not sure whether I would rather us stay in League 1 getting battered every week or in League 2 winning a few games.🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
  16. A glimmer of hope (but this could also apply to others around us) could be that the teams that we play in the run in don't have much to play for. For example: Leyton Orient, Brizzle, Northampton, Wigan, Cambridge
  17. When Clarke came in (along with Flitcroft at the same time) didn't he point out that the squad of players that he inherited were one dimensional and only set up for 433 under Askey? Three years on, history seems to have repeated itself under Flitcroft's watch. One dimensional:352. IMO we were better last night playing 4231 but no full back in the squad means (until Mitch is back) square pegs in round holes. Jones was ok but always injured. Grant was awful (again) and Sang was full of mistakes. Out of his depth.
  18. 4 tiers (tears) of problems (football related only) that will relegate us, all of which compound the next. 1. Insufficient budget to compete in League 1 + 2. DoF who has recruited poorly with insufficient budget + 3. Inexperienced manager (AC) who didn't have the required skill set to get much out of the poorly recruited players. + 4. A squad where majority are not good enough or can't be bothered now we are in a dog fight. = League 2 relegation
  19. Agree. But, for this season, there isn't much alternative.
